The mixed group of children from Years 1 and 6 at our school honed their skills at the event, which was organised by Alive Lynnsport and took place at the sports centre in King’s Lynn.

It was the second time that our school, which is a member of the West Norfolk Academies Trust, had taken part.

“We had children attend last year and then this event,” said West Lynn PE Lead Becky Turvey, who accompanied the 16 pupils, along with Year 1 Teaching Assistant Katie Howells.

“Speed stacking involved the children stacking cups in a set formation and then stacking them back into a single pile again as fast as they could.

“The children had a taster session prior to the event to get a feel for what it was about, and had chance to practise the skills before the event started.”

“The event was part of the Omnes Games package provided by Lynnsport that West Lynn have signed up for to provide more opportunities for our children to take part in sporting activities that they may not have experienced before,” she continued. 

“It was also an opportunity for them to take part in a non-competitive environment and learn new skills.”
