Consultation of proposed change in Admission Numbers for 2027/28
Dear Parents/Carers/Stakeholders
I am writing to notify you of the upcoming consultation on our school admission numbers for 2027/28. The consultation period will run from 3rd November to the 15th December; during this time, parents and other stakeholders are invited to express their views and any concerns about the proposed changes to the admission arrangements at West Lynn Primary School.
In accordance with the DfE’s 2021 statutory ‘School Admissions Code’ guidance, as a school we must consult on our admission arrangements when changes are proposed, and at least once every seven years.
For the 2027/2028 academic year we are proposing a reduction in our planned admission numbers to 15 from our current admission number of 30.
The changes are being proposed as we have seen falling numbers year on year in our Reception class as well as falling numbers within the catchment area and this is a trend being seen nationally.
In accordance with statutory DfE guidance, the consultation will run for at least six weeks. Due to being a stakeholder of West Lynn Primary School, we are keen to hear your views on the proposed changes. We therefore invite you to participate in the consultation and invite you to let us know should you have any concerns regarding the matter.
All responses to the consultation should be made in writing and submitted before end of day on 15th December via email to office@westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk. All correspondence should include your personal details- name, address and relationship to the academy along with any comments or feedback for the proposed changes.
At the end of the consultation period, the Trustees will meet to consider responses and will notify all appropriate bodies of the outcome of this consultation. This will then be shared with all stakeholders on our website by the 28th February 2026.
